Ideas need more than one angle
The first version of an idea is rarely the best one. It is simply the one that arrived first.
Most projects start with a single obvious direction. We try to look at it from two or three other places before committing: who it is for, what it replaces, and what it could become if the constraints changed.
Changing perspective is cheap early and expensive late. That is why discovery matters more than polish at the start of a project.
The goal is not more options. It is a clearer reason for the one you choose.
